Ms. Wright Simpson is a healthcare consultant and small business owner with 35 years of progressive healthcare experience in the Federal government and private-sector. She is a recognized successful executive with a demonstrative record of accomplishments and a breadth of experience in health care systems, complex hospitals, administrative operations, policy development, internal and external communication and employee engagement. Her core strengths are leadership acumen, strategic vision, dedication and diplomatic skills necessary to make a decisive impact and advance the system to the next level of growth and accomplishment.
Prior to becoming a healthcare consultant, Ms. Wright Simpson had an exemplary career of over 33 years at the Department of Veteran Affairs and was a member of the senior executive team where she served as the Chief of Staff. As the Chief of Staff, she served as the senior most advisor to the Secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs which is a Senate confirmed position. In this role, her scope consisted of: overseeing a $82.3 billion budget, 360,000 employees, 1700 sites of care, Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, National Cemetery Administration and the Board of Veterans Appeals throughout the United States. All to support 21 million Veterans and their families.
Ms. Wright Simpson received her Master of Science in Public Health Administration (Hospital Administration) from Meharry Medical College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Tennessee State University.
She has received numerous awards and Honors throughout her VA career.
She is a certified Woman Owned Business, a Board member of Maryland Association of Healthcare Executives, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc with over 35 years of service in her community and nationally and has served as a community organizer.
She is married to James Simpson and they reside in Silver Spring, MD.
