Doctor James Gregory Jolissaint enjoyed a successful military career before transitioning to Defense Contracting, Veterans Affairs senior leadership positions, and now faith-based health care system leadership. Following his U.S. Army retirement, Greg served for 4 ½ years as a General Dynamics Contractor supporting the Medical Communications for Combat Casualty Care (MC4) Program located on Fort Detrick, MD; this assignment was followed by 3 challenging years in Veterans Health Administration medical center leadership positions in Maryland and West Virginia. Doctor Jolissaint joined Trinity Health in October 2017 where he now has the privilege to serve as the Vice President for Trinity’s Military and Veterans Health Program. In this position, he is leading Trinity Health’s effort to establish a credible military, Veterans, and family member focus for all of Trinity Health's nationwide ministries.
Doctor Jolissaint earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. After serving 4 years as a US Army Infantry Officer, Doctor Jolissaint transitioned to the US Army Reserve in order to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He returned to active duty and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program located on Fort Gordon, Augusta, Georgia. Doctor Jolissaint later earned a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University (NDU) in Washington, DC.
Doctor Jolissaint is an Affiliate Faculty member for the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland.
Doctor Jolissaint continues to contribute to his profession and his community by serving on several national and community boards and commissions; these include service as the Governing Board Past Chair for the American Association for Physician Leadership and as the Commission Chair for the Howard County Commission for Veterans and Military Family Members.
